God, I love this ending.
I have a theory, something I thought about when I was rewatching no.6 (I’m warning you though, it’s kind of depressing): Look at the gifs. You see how all the images (I mean except for the last ones) are frozen like that? In a way that you can even see the snowflakes floating in the air?
Well, the song is about the memories from the time they spent together, and how they can never go back to those times, no matter what they do (TT_TT). I think the frozen images are supposed to be these memories, things that only exist now in Shion and Nezumi’s minds, and maybe the whole ending video is actually Shion recalling these times, while standing there (last scene) in the summer (sunflowers, Sakura trees), waiting for Nezumi.
He misses those times, but he knows that he can never go back, no matter how badly he wants to, so he just chooses to move on, storing everything in memory, knowing that these memories made him who he is now.
Even the things I threw away into places of no return will eventually radiate and illuminate tomorrow.
